Metal panels move. A long run of steel or aluminum grows and shrinks with every swing in temperature, and the attachment has to let it slide without oil canning or popping fasteners. We install panels to the manufacturer's fastening and clip layout, with slotted holes and joint spacing where the system calls for them. Trim and flashing get the same attention, because the trim at corners and openings is where most metal walls leak. We check every trim piece against the shop drawings before it goes on the wall.
We build the wall behind the panel too. Air barrier, continuous insulation, girts or furring and the flashing at every transition go on with our crew, so the drainage plane is continuous from the sheathing to the panel face. Common systems include Centria, Kingspan and ATAS. We install the product in your spec, and we work from the approved product submittals and shop drawings for every profile, trim piece and fastener. Any conflict between the drawings and field conditions goes to your PM in writing before we cut.
Panels are priced by the square foot, with trim and flashing by the linear foot. Billing is bi-weekly by percent complete, so your draws track the work in place. Certificates of insurance go out before mobilization. One foreman stays on your site, sends a daily progress report and photographs every layer before it gets covered. We stay on the walls. Roofing, framing, dumpsters and general site cleanup are by others. Change orders are priced at the same unit rates as the base contract, so there's no new negotiation every time quantities shift.
